By "installed" I mean "wired up," an issue I will address later. Even though I haven't tested out any other brands, I am sold on JL Audio and plan to get another, larger JL Audio subwoofer for my next car.
The bass that this thing produces is immense. Some people might argue that a sealed, 10" subwoofer is "weak," but I beg to differ. I'm not out there to win any competitions...I just want to listen to good sounding music on my commute. Paired with a Rockford Fosgate R150-2 amplifier, which produces about 150 watts at 4 ohms (which is the spec on this subwoofer), this produces enough bass to rattle my package tray without any distortion or rattling of the subwoofer itself. I find that, with the sub set to "7" (of 15) on my head unit and volume at 16 for a typical song, the listening experience is great, and sufficient to drown out the ungodly road noise my car produces.
