Impressed so far, April 3, 2012 Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: JL AUDIO EVOLUTION C2-600X (Electronics) Just installed these speakers paired with an Alpine IDA-x305s and Alpine Power Pack in my boat yesterday. I first tested them without the power pack and they sounded good. Much better than the factory speaks. I then installed the power pack and was very impressed. Push them pretty hard for their first use and there was no distortion at all. Would give them 5 stars if the bass hit harder but they do quite well for 6 inches. No complaints...

The cool thing is the C2-600x fits Honda's or Japanese cars very well. Honda's are not a true 6.5 speaker, the mounting with is 5.0 inches or 62mm and these are exactly that. The mounting dept was fine, all though I thought it was gonna hit the window but it's the same measurements once you cut the plastic back off the Honda speaker mount *(you do have to cut the back of the Honda speaker cradle and inside a little, easy fix just cut with Dremel tool and fits like a glove).
JL Audio has a rep for being number 1 in car audio sound, nothing you will or could buy will ever touch anything JL makes. When I first put them in I diddn't hear much bass like I originally thought, but then I used Dynamat door kit and they were banging with no distortion. When you hear a piano or guitar, it's sounds warm and natural or from rock to rap you have the a real nice bass tone. My settings on my head unit is set to flat, no loud, bass +1 on a... Read more

They sound terrific. No issues playing them at loud levels. The mids and highs are quite clear. These aren't overly large speakers, so I can't really comment on the bass. Overall, they are a great purchase.
