Solid Amplifier, well constructed, good sound, July 13, 2011 Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Power Acoustik STAX1200/4 (A) Three Stackable Configurations (Electronics) I recently purchased this amplifier via Amazon and thus far, I have no complaints.
I have it paired to an Alpine CDA-117 head unit with KCE-400BT bluetooth module and Polk DB6501 components. The manufacturer states that the amplifier is capable of 100 watts RMS at 4 Ohms, and 125 watts RMA at 2 Ohms though I would imagine my output is probably in the 70-80watt range.
Power Acoustik seems to receive a bad wrap when it comes to their audio components, however in regard to their amplifiers I do not understand why. The interior components of the amplifier are solid and so long as you run the amplifier within its recommended range, I couldn't foresee any issues.
My vehicle is a 2 seater sports car hence the reason I am only running a component speaker setup. I am not currently running a subwoofer though I may add one in the future. My system which essentially consists of component speakers sounds very clean and can be turned up as much as I can bear... Read more

I decided to get this amp because I couldn't get enough volume without distortion with the Eclipse head unit alone. After wiring up the amp, I was able to push the front and rear speakers to as loud as I could bear without any distortion at all. My stock tweeters begin to suffer at higher volumes, though.
